What are disposable vinyl gloves?

Vinyl gloves are single-use gloves that provide a light barrier of inexpensive hand protection.  Vinyl gloves are designed to be worn for limited periods of time when conducting general purpose tasks such as gardening, food service and handling light chemicals.

Are vinyl gloves chemical resistant?

When should vinyl gloves be changed?

When must a food handler wear gloves?

The FDA Food Code, upon which local food codes are based, requires that gloves be used when handling any ready-to-eat (RTE) foods. RTE foods are those that do not have a heat treatment that can kill bacteria. Examples include raw fruits, vegetables, bakery items, deli meats and cheeses. 

Exceptions to this rule include tasks such as washing produce or when handling ready-to-eat ingredients for a dish that will be cooked to the correct internal temperature. 


Are vinyl gloves waterproof?

Yes, vinyl gloves are waterproof assuming there are no existing punctures or tears. 


Are vinyl gloves recyclable?

Vinyl gloves are recyclable as long as they have not been contaminated by chemicals, bacteria or biohazardous materials. Vinyl gloves are non-biodegradable.
